A history in making needs a giant step: Bangladesh vs India: Match Preview

In last two ICC events, Bangladesh have been close in making history and both times India came right in their way to stop from history being created. But this time it’s looking a bit different and they are not quitting to go easily and a giant step is needed for Bangladesh to create history. It has been sixth semi final for India in last seven ICC events and if Bangladesh want to win the semifinal they will have to perform for it and not only depends on the mistakes done by India. Whenever Bangladesh have come close to beat India or have beaten India is when their bowlers have performed way out of their league. With inclusion of R Ashwin India’s bowling have been now even more stronger and the only thing which is a little weaker is the middle and lower order in Indian batting line up.

Form Guide:

India: WLWLW

Bangladesh: WLWWL

Team Preview:

India: Umesh Yadav have a decent record against Bangladesh but it is unlikely that India will tinker with the winning combination of that against South Africa.

Probable XI: 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Virat Kohli (capt), 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 MS Dhoni (wk), 6 Kedar Jadhav, 7 Hardik Pandya, 8 Ravindra Jadeja, 9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 10 R Ashwin, 11 Jasprit Bumrah

Bangladesh: they played four fast bowlers against New Zealand and the big question is whether they will play mehendi Hasan in place of a fast bowler due to his offspin.

Probable XI: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Soumya Sarkar, 3 Sabbir Rahman, 4 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 5 Shakib Al Hasan, 6 Mahmudullah, 7 Mosaddek Hossain, 8 Taskin Ahmed, 9 Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), 10 Rubel Hossain, 11 Mustafizur Rahman

Players in the Spotlight:

Mustafizur Rahman: he had a sensational debut against India but he is having a very ordinary tournament and have only taken a single wicket till now, Bangladesh will need some exceptional performance from him against India in the semi-final.

Yuvraj Singh: he has been the type of player who have always rescued team India in crunch knockout games and once again playing in his 300th ODI he will need to fire something from his bat for making India reach the final.

Match Prediction: India are the firm favorite to win this match but Bangladesh are no more underdogs and can do some upset.
