Sri Lanka have been lucky enough to be always in a easier group at major ICC events. They have qualified 6 times for semi finals at ICC events between 2009-2014. This time also they are in the group which is easier than the other one. But this time it’s Sri Lanka who is making the group weak itself. They lost their first match against South Africa by the margin of 96 Runs and are ready to face up India who are fresh from victory over Pakistan. Meanwhile India are using the same old formula of playing a better 50-over game. They try making 50 odd runs without losing wickets at first ten over followed by Virat Kohli providing stability to the team. And at the death overs the power hitters of Indian team come to rescue and take them through to over 300. They have strengthen their bowling too and it would be very difficult for Sri Lankan to overcome it. Lankan will need some exceptional performance from Angelo Matthews or Lasith Malinga to go past team India.
