Compensation series for West Indies, historical for Afghanistan: 1st T20I Preview

This series will act as a compensation for the West Indies when they were not able to make it to the champions trophy. This is the first time when one of the traditional top eight teams have not qualified for the champions trophy. Last time, thirteen years ago West Indies had won the champions trophy at the same venue England but this time they will be playing a bilateral series against Afghanistan when others will be busy in champions trophy. Afghanistan on the other hand is on the verge to make history. They are going to play bilateral series for the first time except against Pakistan and Zimbabwe. And for the first time they are touring the other part of the world and creating history. 

What: Afghanistan vs West Indies, 1st T20I, 19.30 IST

Where: Warner Park.

What to expect: there is small chance of rain but a full game is expected, pitch will assist spinners and should be helpful for both the teams.

West Indies: Ronsford beaton a 24 year old uncapped fast bowler have been included in the squad, he could be expected to play at some time of the series. The ODI captain Jason Holder have been rested.

Afghanistan: their team is a mixture of youth and experience and in this series they would try to play more youth as older players might not play for long. Ahmed Shahzad is missing from the squad.

Players in the Spotlight:

Carlos Braithwaite: his form is a major concern for West Indies and being a captain, he need to perform for his team and this will be perfect occasion for him to.get back into form.

Rashid Khan: he is a long term assest for Afghanistan and is the most valuable player for the team. He had pretty good Indian premier league and was in wicket column frequently. He need to repeat his performance if Afghanistan need to create history.

Match Prediction: West Indies are hurt from their exclusion from champions league and would be eyeing to seal the game.
