Preview and Prediction: IPL Match 17: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rising Pune Supergiant

IPL T20 match in Bengaluru

Rising Pune Supergiant misery seems to get no less as they are currently the last team in the IPL standings and will face Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy. Pune have only won a single home game against Mumbai Indians and have lost rest 3 matches on a trot. Their combination is not working at all and they will have to choose the best playing eleven for the team. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, is at a little better position than Rising Pune Supergiant and placed at the 6th position. Despite Badree delivering a dream of a spell for 4 overs and scalping 4 wickets including a hat-trick in the expense of 9 runs, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match to Mumbai Indians. The failure of middle-order though getting a decent start is a matter of concern for the RCBs.

Last time they played: Last time when these teams were against each other Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled out a phenomenal chase, chasing down 192 runs in 20 overs with 3 balls to spare. Batting first Rising Pune Supergiant posted a total of 191 for the loss of six wickets but the target was chased down as Virat Kohli scored a fine hundred during chasing.

Head to head battle: both teams have played each other two times and both the times Rising Pune Supergiant were on the losing side. Royal Challengers Bangalore-2 Rising Pune Supergiant-0.

Rising Pune Supergiant: LLLWW

Team Preview:

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli inclusion in the team though boosted the team spirit but that didn’t work for the favor of the team. Chris Gayle poor form still continued and soon it will be a major worry. Samuel Badree got a hat-trick the other night and is likely to get few games more ahead of Shane Watson. The only place where Shane Watson fits in is in place of Chris Gayle. Mandeep Singh can be axed and replaced by Sachin Baby. Bowling looked good and they will stick to the same bowling line up for sure.

Probable XI: Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle/ Shane Watson, AB De Villiers, Kedhar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Pawan Negi, Mandeep Singh/Sachin Baby, Tymal Mills, Samuel Badree, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sreenath Arvind.

Rising Pune Supergiant: The right team combination for the Supergiant have still not worked. And they are still in search for the best possible eleven. Shardul Thakur and Rahul Chahar were good with the ball and Rahul Tripathi scored few precious runs at the top of the order. Imran Tahir was a bit expensive and Lockie Ferguson inclusion didn’t help the Supergiant. Daniel Christian can get a game in place of Lockie Ferguson and Baba Aparajith or Rajat Bhatia can play in place of Rahul Chahar.

Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Tripathi, Steven Smith, MS Dhoni, Ben Stokes, Manoj Tiwary, Ankit Sharma, Rahul Chahar/Rajat Bhatia/ Baba Aparajith, Imran Tahir, Lockie Ferguson/Daniel Christian, Shardul Thakur.

Players in the Spotlight:

Samuel Badree: This Caribbean fellow surprised everyone by taking the first hat-trick of the Indian premier league 2017 and RCB fans would love him to perform more for their team to win.

Manoj Tiwary: he has looked better in this season IPL and scored in every match he has played. Rising Pune Supergiant would want more of that performances from him.
